Tomahawk Creek Trail

The Tomahawk Creek Trail extension project designed by Schlagel & Associates, P.A. completed the missing link in the extensive trail system that follows the Tomahawk Creek. The trail connected to the existing trail in a city park in Leawood, Kansas and extended through a city park in Overland Park, Kansas. Obtaining approval from multiple government agencies at the City, County, and State level was part of the services provided for the project. The design involved developing solutions for a bridge crossing and several culvert crossings over tributaries to Tomahawk Creek. The trail location was carefully designed to preserve significant existing trees along the creek and in the park.
